Harry Kane reportedly close to new Bayern Munich deal

Tottenham Hotspur’s favourite son Harry Kane is reportedly close to agreeing a new contract with Bayern Munich, with the England captain set to extend his stay in Germany until 2029.

According to Sky Germany, there has been a breakthrough in principle between Kane and Bayern, with the remaining details of the agreement now being worked on.

Kane’s current contract with the Bundesliga champions runs until the summer of 2027, but both player and club have been working towards an extension for several months.

The 33-year-old has previously confirmed that talks were progressing well, while Bayern have made no secret of their desire to keep their star striker in Munich.

Kane has enjoyed a remarkable spell since leaving Tottenham Hotspur for Bayern in 2023. His goalscoring form has continued at an extraordinary rate, while he has established himself as one of the most important players in the German champions’ squad.

The proposed deal would keep Kane at Bayern until 2029, meaning he would remain in Germany into his mid-thirties.

For Bayern, it represents a major piece of business as they look to retain one of the world’s most prolific strikers.

Spurs fans will still dream of a Kane return

There is little doubt that Tottenham supporters would love to see Harry Kane wearing the famous white shirt again one day.

Kane remains Spurs’ all-time leading goalscorer and one of the greatest players in the club’s history. A return to north London would be an emotional moment for supporters who watched him develop from academy prospect into a world-class striker.

But, realistically, that reunion does not look close.

A new Bayern contract until 2029 would make a Premier League return even more difficult, while Kane continues to perform at an elite level in Germany.

Spurs fans can dream about seeing their former captain back at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but it is unlikely to happen any time soon.
