Roberto De Zerbi has offered an update on Dejan Kulusevski’s return from injury, explaining that Tottenham will continue to assess the midfielder on a week-by-week basis.
Asked how far Kulusevski is from being included in a matchday squad, the Spurs head coach admitted that he does not yet know when the Sweden international will be ready.
“I don’t know (how far away he is from a matchday squad). The medical staff are working really well with him. They have done special work. We have to analyse week-by-week,” De Zerbi said according to the club’s official website.
De Zerbi also confirmed that Kulusevski will travel with the team tomorrow to Old Trafford alongside Pedro Porro, although that does not necessarily mean either player is ready to return to action.
“Tomorrow, he comes with us. Also Porro. Deki is working very well. I think he is a good example for everyone. The way he reacted to the injury and the character he has shown is a reference for everyone.”
The Tottenham manager was full of praise for Kulusevski’s attitude during his recovery, highlighting the character he has shown since suffering the injury.

For Spurs, the immediate focus remains on managing the midfielder’s recovery carefully rather than putting a firm date on his return.
De Zerbi’s week-by-week approach suggests the club will continue to monitor his progress before deciding when he can rejoin the matchday squad.
